About Cindy

Cindy Patrick Photography is the realization of a dream; a dream to turn a lifelong passion for art into a profession.

I was born on Pablo Picasso”s birthday, a fact that holds great significance for me because the creative arts have always been an important part of my life. Growing up, I was never without my pencils and sketchbooks or my paints and paper. In the fourth grade I somehow found myself in possession of a plastic “toy” camera, and I carried it everywhere I went even though I never put a roll of film through it. I just loved looking at the world around me through that little viewfinder. Somehow I suspected, even then, that a camera could create magic. But it wasn’t until my freshman year of college, when I enrolled in my first photography course, that I knew I had found my true passion. I fell in love with photography the instant I dipped a sheet of photo paper into a tray of developing chemicals and watched an image appear, as if by magic, before my eyes. I was hooked! The traditional darkroom of yesterday has given way to the digital “lightroom” of today, but the feeling of magic I felt then is very much the same as what I feel today when I download the images captured at a wedding and see them for the first time on my computer screen. Photo chemicals have been replaced by Photoshop, and I feel like a kid again with a box full of colored pencils and a blank sheet of paper. The creative possibilities are endless!

My passion today is photographing people and the meaningful events in their lives. I can’t think of an event worth photographing more than a wedding, and I consider it a privilege to be present at one of the most significant days of a couple’s life. My goal at each wedding is to capture the essence of the moment in an artistic way and to tell a story with pictures. I strive to find unique angles, perspectives, and lighting to create art for my clients. I enjoy meeting couples who appreciate my artistic, contemporary approach to wedding photography. I am very passionate about what I do, and I am so fortunate to be able to earn a living doing what I love. I hope you can see my passion for art and life reflected in my work.

In addition to holding a B.A. in Fine Art, I am a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA), Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI), as well as the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP.) These organizations help me stay on the cutting edge of new techniques and trends in contemporary wedding photography. I am an active member of the Digital Wedding Forum (DWF), which has put me in touch with photographers from all over the world and provides me with an endless source of inspiration.
